each class in Baldur's gate 3, ranked

The Teen Gamer

Baldur's gate 3's story allows players to pick any class they want which will affect the story your appearance and perhaps most importantly combat, which means naturally some classes may be stronger than others and today we're ranking all of them!

number 12: the ranger

the ranger is one of the most fun you can have with a class in Baldur's gate 3 with its weapon based combat, nature based spells and cute companions, but what it lacks is attacks that deal a high amount of damage and ways to counter spellcasters placing it at the bottom of our list

number 11: the warlock

warlocks have a selection of some of the finest spells in Baldur's gate 3 like hunger of hadar and hellish rebuke yet they lack spell slots to actually use them

number 10: the rogue

rogues are excellent assassins and pick pocketers making them extremely useful in roleplay however in combat they're arguably the worst class on the list being carried by potions and magical items to survive

number 9: the sorcerer

sorcerers are great at all things magic whether its area control or spell sniping or area control they have a spell ready yet they fall short to their wizard and cleric counterparts because of them being good at just damage spells and nothing else

number 8: the barbarian

barbians are excellent tanks and damage dealers making them great to pick if you like close combat but their biggest drawback is not having a good range to fight spellcasters

number 7: the druid

druids are powerful support and if played correctly they can have 3 separate healthbars they are a great class its just that the top 6 are all very powerful class

number 6: the paladin

paladins are amazing fighters and being combinations of clerics and fighters which are both top 5 rewards them with a high ranking like this

number 5: the monk

monks are often overlooked as weak warriors who don't stand a chance against big enemies but using the right build they could be stronger than every other class here

number 4: the wizard

wizards are the best non support caster with their insane ability to learn any wizard spell at their level for just mere pocket change AND having the biggest spell library makes this one of the best classes in the game

number 3: the fighter

it should come as no surprise that the best weapons class is the fighter

fighters in bg3 have maneuvers that deal insane amounts of damage, amazing archery to defeat casters, 3 attacks per turn and access to one of the best actions in the game, that being of course action surge

number 2: the cleric

you cant go wrong with clerics especially in Baldur's gate, these casters have access to both the best summoning, healing, attacks against undead, features like praying during dialogue granting them extra safety and on top of all that access to arguably the strongest spell in the game, revivify

what do you think is the strongest class in the game?

  • barbarian

  • bard

  • cleric

  • druid

number 1: the bard

usually you'd think bards are little support characters that cant stand up for themselves

but Baldur's gate bards get: to use level 5 spells from other classes, have the best archery in the game, get past every charisma check allowing them to easily beat act 2, have longsword profiencies (and greatsword if college of valor), have mastery on two abilities, and have the 3rd best spell library in the game. do not mess with these little guitar players
